Diversity Initiatives

HIPA Vendor Program

HIPA is committed to fostering an inclusive environment which values all suppliers and extends support that delivers equal access and quality. HIPA continuously strives to increase minority business participation, and give then an equal chance to provide HIPA with goods and services. We expect the same high standard of performance and commitment from our suppliers that our customers demand from us: highest quality at the best value. We look for suppliers that are competitive, technologically innovative and possess value-added capabilities. Recognizing the difficulty for historically underutilized businesses to gain access to opportunity, HIP has developed and implemented a formal process to provide assistance to them. Suppliers seeking to do business with HIP must be fully competitive in:

  • Minority Business: a company that is at least fifty-one percent owned, managed, and controlled by one or more minority persons (African American, Hispanic American, Asian Pacific American, Asian Indian American or Native American).
  • Women Owned Business: a company that is at least fifty-one percent owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.
  • Disabled Veteran Business: A business that is at least fifty-one percent owned, managed and controlled by one or more individuals that are both US citizens and US veterans who are disabled due to US military service.

Registration Process

To register your company with HIPA as a potential supplier, you must submit the following:

  • A letter of introduction describing your company's products and services.
  • A copy of your certification.
  • Customer references.
  • Promotional/marketing material and/or brochure.

Your material will be reviewed for potential opportunities with HIPA. A business information report of your organization will be obtained through Dun & Bradstreet. Your information will be entered in our supplier diversity database. If an opportunity arises, you will be contacted, and depending on the timing and current activity, you will be scheduled for a direct presentation or site visit with the appropriate personnel. If no current opportunity exists, we will maintain your information in our database for future opportunities. If we cannot use your products and services, we will keep your information in our database and will make every effort to refer your company to other businesses that may have opportunities for you.
